in memory of Dr Ashraf Qureshi
LAHORE: (Friday, February 10, 2012): Punjab University Department of Kashmir Studies organized a condolence reference in memory of Chairman Dr Muhammad Ashraf Qureshi. A large number of faculty members and students attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the faculty members highly eulogized the academic and research services of Dr Ashraf Qureshi and termed him as ?Hero of Kashmir.? The speakers highlighted the services of Dr Qureshi in promoting Kashmiri language, literature, culture and history alongwith his services for Kashmir.
Principal Oriental College Prof Dr Mazhar Moeen, Dean Faculty of Science Prof Dr Khawaja Haris Rasheed, Chairman Urdu Department Prof Dr Fakhar-ul-Haq Noori, President ASA Prof Dr Mahr Muhammad Saeed Akhtar, Prof Dr Moeen Nizami, founder Chairman Department of Kashmir Studies Dr S.M. Yousaf Bukhari, Prof Khalid Humayun, Incharge Kashmir Studies Department Dr Nusrat Nisar, Prof Dr Zahoor Azhar, Prof Dr Akram Shah, former Chairman Persian Department Prof Dr Aftab Asghar, senior research scholar Dr Nadra Zaidi, Sardar Asghar Iqbal, journalist Ghulam Nabi Bhutt, Dr Zahid Aziz, Dr Syed Ali Raza, students Abdul Rauf and Muhammad Suleman addressed on the occasion and paid rich tributes to Dr Ashraf Qureshi.
In the end, fateha was also offered for the departed soul of Dr Ashraf Qureshi.
